And a millisecond later he wasn't thinking it was such a good idea, because it's hard to think after being punched by a Tau battlesuit and having been effectively squished into a tank hatch like jam into a jar.
Fluff-wise bolters fired from too close for the explosive to arm still punches straight through Astartes armor, through the Marine and out the otherside and keeps going. I'm pretty sure that is sufficient penetration, especially when combined with the extreme rate of fire of a storm bolter.
On the other hand. If I were that guy, I would have made sure the power pack for my laspistol was overcharged for a hotshot. Not enough in this case, but still.
But ok, let's say it could achieve something if he fired that storm bolter at it, he still doesn't have enough time to turn it around and get off a good salvo before he's reduced to the likeness of minced meat.
That would depend on if he even managed to fire it anymore, not to mention if it would hit somewhere so it would not just go into interior machinery rather than the pilot. Oh and if the Crisis Suit has a shield generator, then that too.
A fair criticism, but the costume design of the Hellhound commander was dictated by BOOM! and Games Workshop, as well as the talented fellow who did the interiors (the one and only ) who designed it according to their specs. I was just along for the ride. And the cover.
For the Emperor! And if you guys play Warhammer you would know Tau fails at everything, and that lasgun can actually kill that Tau crisis battlesuit commander on a 5+ to wound, and he roll a 2 or 1 Sv+. So he is not so fucked.
I agree...He is either down right insanely desperate, that he'll try to make a stand against that Tau, or he is so insane that his life is no longer a factor in his mind. In other words, he's a dead man, both on the inside...and the outside!
The tank commander doesn't even look over his shoulder as the ground shakes he knows the distinctive whir of servos can on be a Tau suit landing, looking at that the front lines he grimaces, it's too late to get his crew out anyway there's not point in telling them and if he lets them stay focused his hellhound can break the advance if it can just keep going for a few more seconds, bearing his shoulders to the task he resides himself to the outcome 'Sometimes you just gotta roll a hard 6' ripping his laspistol from its holster he spins round a Servitor Orchestra plays up into a tear jerking and heart wrenching piece of Epic Last stand musical masterpiece, the Tank Commander roars an oath to the Emperor determined to drain every watt of charge as the massive metal fist swings closer
The thing that really stands out in all your pieces is the dynamic and unusual choice of angle and composition. It makes for some spectacular action scenes Top-notch painting skills too, I love your use of multidirectional lighting and fog of war. Really atmospheric!
